MindOUT Webinar - Facilitating an Anxiety Support Group for LGBTI People

Way Ahead Mental Health Association of NSW facilitates Anxiety Disorders Support Group that comprise of a small number of people who come together to share personal experiences and information in a safe, friendly and supportive environment, led by a trained volunteer group facilitator.

In 2016, an Anxiety Disorders Support group for LGBTI people, and their family and friends was established, for LGBTI people to learn from each other, experience relief, have fun, and become inspired by each other’s journeys. 

This presentation will explore how this group was developed, alongside the key learnings and challenges experienced from facilitating a LGBTI support group

Owen O’Neil and Stephanie Hunt are the facilitators of Way Ahead Mental Health Association of NSW Anxiety Disorders LGBTI Support Group, a free monthly support group for LGBTI people living with an anxiety disorder, and their family and friends.
